Appreciation Dinner

Our 1st annual (Thanksgiving) Appreciation Dinner was held in 1977. It is a potluck dinner, with meat and beverages provided by the parish. It is given for the people of our parish to say THANKS for all things we do for one another and for the church to say thanks to its people.

The evening includes fun, relaxation, eating, visiting and sharing. It is usually held the Thursday before Thanksgiving. Volunteers set up the hall and decorate, prepare meat and beverages, help in the kitchen and clean up at the end. Meals are available to deliver to shut-ins.

Ice Cream Social

Since 1974, the Holy Name Faith Community has celebrated an annual Ice Cream Social. It is usually held on the 1st weekend in August. This is a major fundraising effort to benefit our parish. Not only is it a fundraiser, but also a FUN-RAISER!

Included are Mexican food, hot dogs, refreshments, cake, pie, ice cream, games, booths, bingo, raffle, and lots of prizes. A theme is selected and the posters and artwork are centered on that theme. It involves a lot of volunteers to set-up, run the social, take down, and cleans up after the social. Pre -Social meetings are held in the months before to plan the event. Afterwards an evaluation meeting is always held. This is a great Faith Community project!
